Beyond the Projector: Cooling & Cable Management
A great home theater depends on more than what appears on screen. Behind the picture are devices that generate heat, require power, and need to stay connected. Cinèst considers these less visible demands just as carefully as the furniture's appearance, so sophisticated entertainment technology can fit naturally into everyday living.
From a Projector Cabinet to a Complete AV System
Cinèst's earlier UST projector cabinets focused primarily on the projector itself. But as home theater setups grew to include AV receivers, gaming consoles, and other electronics, we recognized that simply providing a place for the projector was no longer enough.
“A projector is only the starting point. Designing for a home theater means considering everything that makes the experience possible.”
— Cinèst Product Manager
That thinking changed how we approached the cabinet's interior. Instead of treating additional devices as an afterthought, Cinèst designed more usable equipment space, adjustable shelving, accessible connections, and dedicated ventilation into the Core Collection.
The goal was to create a UST projector cabinet ready for a more complete home theater system, without requiring additional furniture as equipment needs expand.
Cooling Designed for Performance and Quiet Viewing
As AV receivers and other electronics operate inside enclosed furniture, heat becomes a concern beyond the projector itself. Cinèst incorporated established AV cooling solutions into its UST projector cabinet, with a dedicated fan near the projector platform and temperature-controlled fans in both side cabinets. Perforated acoustic fabric and side-opening center panels also help provide ventilation around the equipment.

But effective cooling shouldn't come at the expense of a quiet viewing environment.
Cinèst refined its fan selection to reduce operating noise, choosing models specified below 40 dB. The side-cabinet fans activate at 35°C and switch off below 30°C, responding to temperature changes rather than running continuously.
For Cinèst, thoughtful cooling means giving equipment the ventilation it needs while keeping mechanical noise from becoming an unnecessary part of the viewing experience.
Cable Management That Makes Every Connection Easier
As a home theater grows, connecting multiple devices can quickly lead to crowded outlets, tangled HDMI cables, and exposed wiring. Cinèst's earlier design provided a passage between cabinet sections, but we saw an opportunity to make the entire setup easier to organize.
The Core Collection integrates six AC outlets and two USB-A ports inside the cabinet, reducing the need for separate power strips. Dedicated cable passages connect the three cabinet sections, while removable rear panels give users easier access when installing equipment or changing connections.

These decisions serve both convenience and aesthetics. Devices can remain connected and accessible without leaving their cables scattered across the room.
Because a well-designed home theater should accommodate changing technology while preserving the calm, considered look of the space around it.
Cinèst believes a more capable home theater shouldn't demand a more complicated living space. By considering cooling, power, storage, and connections together, we design furniture that gives technology room to work—and people more freedom to enjoy it.
