Making a UST Projector Cabinet Easier to Bring Home

Cinèst's Core cabinet ships in three preassembled sections that lock together in about 10 seconds — no screws, no long instructions — so a large UST console fits through tight doorways and staircases without making assembly your problem.

Thoughtful furniture design shouldn't end with how a piece looks or functions in a room. It should also consider how that piece gets there.
For Cinèst, creating a better UST projector cabinet meant addressing the challenges of delivery, assembly, and long-term ownership—so the experience feels considered from the moment it arrives.

The Challenge of Getting a Large Cabinet Home

A fully assembled cabinet may seem convenient until it has to pass through a narrow doorway or turn a tight staircase. One prospective Cinèst customer even shared their staircase measurements to check whether the cabinet could make it inside.
Traditional flat-pack furniture presents a different challenge: numerous parts, lengthy instructions, and the risk of uneven assembly. Our earlier screw-based design could take more than ten minutes to put together.
Cinèst wanted to move beyond that trade-off. A large UST projector cabinet should be easier to transport without transferring the burden of complicated assembly to its owner.

Three Sections. One Simple Assembly.

Cinèst's solution was to divide the cabinet into three preassembled sections that could be delivered separately and joined at home.
Inspired by the simplicity of building blocks, the connecting structure allows the sections to fit together without the usual process of aligning and tightening multiple screws. Once unpacked and positioned, joining the three cabinet sections takes approximately 10 seconds.
The design makes a large piece of furniture easier to maneuver into a home while preserving the convenience of an almost fully assembled product. It also allows the cabinet to be separated and reconnected if it needs to be moved later.
The intention was simple: make delivery more manageable without making assembly someone else's problem.

The Engineering Behind a Stable Connection

Making the sections easy to connect was only part of the challenge. Early prototypes revealed that the cabinet could shift when moved because the connections weren't secure enough.
Cinèst refined the interlocking structure, drawing inspiration from traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery. Particular attention went to the precision of the connections, especially front-to-back positioning, where even slight movement could affect how the sections aligned.
The team explored approximately 20–30 design solutions across seven rounds of prototyping, testing how the cabinet behaved during assembly and movement. Achieving the desired fit also required additional connecting hardware and manufacturing steps.
It was a deliberate trade-off: a more demanding production process in exchange for simpler assembly and more stable connections at home.
The easier a product is to use, the less its underlying complexity should demand attention.

Support Beyond Delivery

Not everyone wants to handle furniture delivery and setup themselves. For those who prefer additional assistance, Cinèst's White Glove Delivery service offers a more hands-off way to welcome a new UST projector cabinet into the home.
And the experience shouldn't end once the cabinet is in place. Customer support and warranty coverage are part of helping owners feel confident about their furniture beyond the initial setup.
Together with a design that's easier to move and assemble, these services reflect a broader commitment: making ownership feel as considered as the product itself.

A Cinèst cabinet is designed for the home it will become part of—not just the showroom where it looks its best. From the way it arrives to the details of its assembly and the support that follows, we believe thoughtful design should make the entire experience easier.
